Kindly shared by Sim (SMores) in early 2014, ie. almost 30 years after the show the tape surfaced! SMBTapes comments on the tape: "I haven't been able to locate this show anywhere online or on anyone's trading list, including db.etree.org. According to Megadeth.com, the band performed in Reseda, CA twice in 1985, once on 1985-05-24 and then on 1985-09-19. During this show, Dave mentions playing in Reseda "last Friday". In 1985, May 24th was on a Friday, and September 19th was on a Thursday, which confirms this show as being May 31st performance. I can't find a precise release date for their first album, but this show took place either a little before its release or a little after, since some sources say it was released in May '85 and others say June '85. The recording isn't very good quality, and the recording levels lower during the last song.
The quality becomes slightly better but more distant, which makes me believe that the recorder distanced himself further from the stage. The tape case paper insert had a few extra songs listed on SIDE A but they are definitely not on the cassette. The paper insert in the cassette case listed "Bad Omen" and "Mechanix" after "Looking Down The Cross", but they are definitely not on the cassette. I listened all the way through. I'm guessing it was a 60 min cassette because the last bit of talking after "Looking Down The Cross" was literally where the cassette cut off and ran out of tape, and that's at the 31 minute mark. Then when I flipped the cassette over it started with "Rattlehead", just as the paper insert suggested as the first song on SIDE B."
So it looks like several songs were simply not recorded onto the tape, which is sad. Another info about this gig was shared by Doug (deathangel) that this was actually Exodus "Bonded By Blood" Record Release show.
To me personally it's always fun to hear early Dave singing/talking. The recording is indeed quite distant and evidently can be remastered but atm (March 2014) I simply do not have time/will to do it. Once again i'm deeply grateful to Sim for sharing this tape with me and the rest of the world!
